Coming out of a long and cold winter can take its toll on your garden. Damaged plants, spreading weeds and unwanted critters are only some of the troubles you could've noticed in your absence while spending most of your time indoors.

But don't worry! With a little work and a lot of love, your garden can be restored, looking better than ever!

Here are 5 Steps you can follow to help you with your garden expedition:

Step 1. Inspect your garden

Stake a stroll and make a note of things that should be removed, fixed and cleaned. Excess leaves, old and broken-off branches from neighbouring trees, fences, steps, pathways etc.

Step 2. Tools & gear

Equipping yourself with the right tools and proper safety gear will turn your job into a hassle-free, can do experience.
The standard garden tools should suffice like a garden rake, shovel, garden fork, wheelbarrow and shears but depending on your garden your tools might require a lawnmower, leaf blower etc.
Gear-up with gloves for plucking out weeds and safety from critters and sharp objects, boots for getting in deep, SPF or a big covered hat from the sun and you're ready to go!

Step 3. Sector off and remove excess

Being efficient is key to your plan. Divide your garden into sectors and start to pick up, pluck out, cut, rake and gather any old leaves, branches, dead plants, shrubs and weeds in that sector until it's complete, repeat until finished.

Step 4. Fertilise

Wow, your garden is starting to come together, looking clean and fresh.
Now its time to put life back into your soil for your plants to grow. Having a compost heap proves beneficial for saving a buck, but regular fertiliser and garden soil will do just fine.

Step 5. Apply finishes

After diving into the garden and cleaning up, all we need to do is make it look pretty.

Finish off with clean and sharp garden edges.  With a shovel, clean up the beds and sweep away any dirt from the garden path and walkways.

Well done! Your garden is happy and ready to grow without restriction. All you have to do now is to sit back, relax and enjoy the view.

Your garden will reward you over time :)
