There are multiple ways of improving and adding value to your home and if you're on the lookout for an inexpensive option that delivers the best results, a splash of paint IS the best bet for your buck.

Whether you're renovating, touching up or trying to make a statement, it's not always that simple.

A lot of people drop out half way because they can't find a good enough reason to justify the investment and if they come that far, they get stuck with the hardest part, choosing the colour.

Today we're going to challenge the statement above.

First of all, a list of all the benefits of adding a new coat of paint, see for yourself:

  • Instantly increase the value of your home
  • The cheapest form of renovating
  • Transforms an area to look and feel like new
  • A chance to patch holes and fix any damages
  • It provides an inner barrier layer from any outside damage

If you're still on track, let's get going on the exciting part, the colour.

Here's how you can choose your colour in 3 simple steps:

1. Start with inspiration

Before you pick anything, try to collect as many different types of inspiration you would like your area/room to look like, get something way out and something easy and simple and plain. *Tip: If you have a specific piece of furniture or finishes you love, google the piece for ideas, example: If you have a big oak table, search for trending interiors that showcases that specific piece. Keep it on trend.

2. Narrow it down.

Now that you have your inspiration it’s time to cut off the trimmings.

Ask yourself what is the purpose of the room... do you want to make a statement (bright, dark, bold), a feeling(soft, pastels) or something in between/neutral (whites, greys)

If you have your answer, sort your inspiration ideas into the purpose of the room.

3. Pick the colour

Time to choose from your sorted pile of inspiration.

Knowing that your picks are on trend you won't have to worry about making a mistake.

The last choices are entirely up to you:)

 Go for it :)
